Professor Su-hwa Chiang-Tsai (江蔡淑華教授) was born in 1933 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and completed her primary and middle school education there. She received both B.A. and M.A. degrees from the Department of Botany at National Taiwan University in 1958 and 1962, respectively. She then proceeded to pursue her doctorate in the United States by studying at the University of California, Davis, CA under the supervision of Dr. Ernest M. Gifford. After receiving, her Ph. D. degree in 1967, Professor Chiang-Tsai returned to Taiwan and jointed the faculty in the Department of Botany at National Taiwan University until her retirement in 1993. During her tenure as a professor, she was very active in the university community. |
