Discriminant analysis of five natural populations of Tradescantia bracteata (2n=12) and T. ohiensis (2n=24) showed that the two species arc distinct in their phenetic characteristics and differ in their ecological preference. A tetraploid hybrid derivative population (2n=24) was found. It is phenetically closer to T. ohiensis than to T. bracteata. Chromosomal variations of populations were also examined. |
