Pathogenic Fungi Associated with Taipei Pigeons

Fungal isolations from the pigeon population in the metropolitan area of Taipei were investigated. Five potential pathogenic species found included Aspergillus fumigatus, A. niger, Cryptococcus neoformans, Geotrichum candidum, and Histoplasma capsularum. Twenty four other species of taxonomic interest were also observed.
