There are supposedly three levels of temperature, i.e. minimum, optimum, and maximum which influence the rate of plant growth. At the optimum temperature, plants show the greatest rate of growth. In this paper, the authors will report on the results of some growth experiments, in which six day-length-insensitive rice varieties were planted one week apart throughout the whole year. The objective of the experiment is to find out the optimum temperature at which these six rice varieties show the shortest growth duration. The day-length-insensitive varieties were used to cancel out the effect of day length on growth duration. |
