Our Botany Departmental journal was first published in October 1947 under the title ACTA BOTANICA TAIWANICA, Science reports of the National Taiwan University, The second Series, Volume 1, Number 1 (國立臺灣大學，理學院研究報告，第二種，第一卷，第一號)。In May 1948 the title was changed to TAIWANIA and published by The Laboratory of Systematic Botany, Department of Botany, College of Science, National Taiwan University. This ran through Volume 1 Numbers 1 to 4 (臺灣植物分類，地理叢刊，國立臺灣大學理學院植物學系植物分類學研究室出版)。
