Analyzing health disparities between regions is an important issue in public health and epidemiology. This study presents the differences in health indicators across Taiwan using choropleth maps, utilizing four key statistical indicators from the government's statistical information network: the number of healthcare professionals per 10,000 population, the average population served per practicing physician, the average population served per nursing staff, and Beds in Hospitals per 10,000 Population. The paper demonstrates the creation of Taiwan's choropleth map for 2022, discussing its ease of production, including the Gini coefficient, the highest and lowest values among counties and cities, and the dashboard-style network contribution format. The study found significant disparities between different counties and cities in these indicators, with the largest difference in the number of healthcare professionals per 10,000 population between Chiayi City and Kinmen County. This research provides a simple and user-friendly platform for quickly creating choropleth maps of Taiwan, visually displaying the uneven distribution of health issues among counties and cities. In the future, choropleth maps can be used to analyze more health-related issues and provide effective visual information to medical departments and their readers. |
