Due to the increase in the elderly population in Taiwan, employees of the Sandwich generation must care for and educate their children while also facing the pressures of issues related to their physical and mental health, work-life balance, and family responsibilities, particularly in caring for elderly family members. Many companies today have established childcare facilities, but the service needs for employees in caring for elderly family members and the associated impact on a family-friendly workplace are still to be explored. This study addresses the issue of setting up elderly day care services within enterprises, analyzing employees’feelings and attitudes, as well as the intensity of service demand willingness among different groups. The study designs questionnaires based on a review of relevant literature and conducts a survey among employees of a certain industrial park. Data analysis is carried out using descriptive statistics, t-tests, Chi-square tests, ANOVA, and Logistic regression. The research revealed that 75.5% of the surveyed employees agree that establishing adult day care services within the company contributes to a friendly workplace environment. Employees with master’s or doctoral degrees are more likely to support this initiative, and employees with a monthly income of over 40,000 yuan also see this measure as beneficial for creating a friendly workplace environment. Furthermore, a logistic regression model was used to analyze the strength of the associations between different variables. Female exhibited a higher perception of the impact of day care services on creating a friendly workplace compared to male employees. Those with lower monthly incomes also reported a stronger positive impact on the workplace environment. Based on the research findings, monthly income is an important influencing factor among several issues. Most employees in the surveyed companies exhibit a positive attitude and anticipation regarding the company’s establishment of adult day care services. Therefore, in response to changing demographics, and for the sake of a friendly workplace environment and organizational performance, businesses should assess and plan to provide adult day care services for their employees’family members. |
