Introduction: A technology-assisted training tool with interactive features may improve the health outcomes of older adults with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). This study uses the deconstructive planned behavior theory to evaluate the factors that influence the use of Robot-assisted Board Games among the elderly with MCI in the institution. Methods: Older adults with MCI in Taipei or New Taipei City long-term care facilities were selected as the subjects. After playing 12-times of Robot-assisted Board Games, behavioral intentions were assessed through qualitative interviews. Results and Discussion: This study collected a total of 10 questionnaires and conducted statistical and qualitative analysis. The findings of this study suppor that participants’evaluations were very good and they had high intentions of using Robot-assisted Board Games in the future. The results of this study support that interactive Robot-assisted Board Games can arouse the willingness to use the cognitively impaired older adults in institutions, and participants rated the Robot-assisted Board Games very well. It is suggested that administration of long-term care facilities can use Decomposed Theory of Planned Behavior to evaluate whether relevant intervention measures can attract the participation of older adults with MCI, so as to effectively achieve the effectiveness of intervention measures and assist in health promotion programs. |
