The purpose of this paper is to discuss how the government can efficiently promote an international strategic alliance of service industries. In partner selection, as we analyze the case studies, the key success factor of the alliance is“compatibility,”including resource, culture and so forth. However, the problem of“asymmetric information”may disadvantage the formation of the alliance. To solve it the government can provide participants information, such as contact information of potential partners and professional service providers. Therefore in the short term, we suggest that, to promote the cooperation between Taiwan and Japan food and beverage industries, the government collect the information, like local business conditions and potential cooperation cases. In the long run, after examining all the present programs in Taiwan and Hong Kong's policy measures, we suggest that Taiwan government create a database to encourage private companies to forge an alliance on their own initiative. |
