In the Cabinet reshuffle that was carried out in Taiwan in September, Minister without Portfolio Tsai Hsung-hsiung was appointed to serve concurrently as Minister of the Council for Economic Planning and Development (CEPD). Mr. Tsai has served in the CEPD for almost 30 years, until most recently as Deputy Minister; in his other Cabinet office as Minister without Portfolio, he is responsible for overseeing the CEPD's operations. He also participated actively in the supervisory panel of ministers without portfolio for deregulation, which the CEPD helped with staff operations. Obviously, Mr. Tsai is thoroughly familiar with the CEPD's work. |
