Taiwan is situated at the center of the Asia-Pacific region, and the rapid economic growth of China in recent years has highlighted the advantages of this position more than ever. Vice Premier Paul Chiu feels that Taiwan is perfectly positioned to penetrate the mainland China market and become a major Asia-Pacific financial center.
