立法院於95年1月12日通過國家通訊傳播委員會（National Communications Commission,以下簡稱NCC）12位委員名單。依照「國家通訊傳播委員會組織法」規定，NCC成立後，包括交通部郵電司、交通部電信總局及新聞局廣電處等三大單位的業務，將全部納入NCC，例如廣播電台頻譜重整、有線電視年度頻道區塊調整規劃、「電信法」及廣電三法之修法工作都列入NCC職掌範疇。

The Legislative Yuan approved a roster of 12 members of the National Communications Commission (NCC) on Jan. 12. Once the NCC is formally established, it will take responsibility for all of the operations of three major agencies: the Dept. of Posts and Telecommunications, the Directorate General of Telecommunications (both units of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications), and the Government Information Office. The NCC will, for example, handle the reorganization of the radio spectrum, planning for the annual readjustment of cable TV channels, and revision of the Telecommunications Act and other related laws.
