英文摘要 |
Collating and interpretation are the two most basic primary tasks in the study of excavated documents. In this article, I draw on the bamboo documents unearthed at Guodian to discuss problems involved in the collating and interpretation of excavated documents. The article is divided into three sections: First, general examples related to the collating of the Guodian documents; second, examples illustrating problems specific to the Guodian documents; and third, problems related to the interpretation of individual characters in the Guodian documents. Because the fields of ''collating'' and ''interpretation'' are quite broad, I focus on several points, limiting the discussion to a few representative examples. It is hoped that in this way I can illustrate the problems specific to documents written on bamboo strips, while at the same time providing examples of ways in which problems in excavated documents can be approached. |
