This study uses non-destructive ultrasonic scanning to measure the change of the contact area of the worn automobile clutch disc. LabVIEW software is used to control the ultrasonic transducer for scanning in order to obtain the clutch plate data, and then the data is converted into 2D contact graphics using MATLAB. Finally, apackage analysis tool, ImageJ, is used to calculate the contact area between different contact degrees from 10% to 100%. In the experiment process of this study, the clutch plate is divided into 24 equal parts for scanning, and the 100% contrast area, the change in the size of the contact area. Under the load of 2.5 kgw, the contact area is between 96.536 mm2 and 205.162 mm2, under 5kgw load is 116.671 mm2 ~227.311 mm2, 7.5 kgw is 151.214 mm2 ~288.701 mm2, and 10 kgw is 194.305 mm2 ~372.148 mm2. There is agradual increase in the contact area. The experiment shows that the contact area varied under different loading forces. It can be deduced that the wear of the clutch disc is not even on the whole plate. The research results are helpful to driving safety in the use of the clutch disc and provide maintenance technicians with data on the wear of the clutch disc as areference for replacement. |
