The International Phonetic Alphabet provides tow sets of letters, p, t, k and b, d, g for unaspirated voiceless plosives and unaspirated voiced plosives respectively. Of the fromer kind of sounds, a weakly articulated variety, such as occur in the Mandarin of Beeipyng and in South Germany, is often written as ḅ, ḍ, g which easily pass into voiced b, d g in intervocalic prsitions.
