The outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic has made a profound great impact on public health, economy, politics, etc. around the world. With the spreading of COVID-19 pandemic, the UK has become one of the worst affected counties in the world. However, the achievements of UK vaccine policy have not only brought the UK the crack of down in the battle against COVID-19, but also marked a significant milestone in the world’s fight against the pandemic. The UK was the first country in the world to authorize and start rolling out a COVID-19 vaccine at the end of 2020. Also, the UK is one of the countries which have enjoyed the highest global COVID-19 vaccination rates. Compared with other countries, the performance of the UK’s COVID-19 vaccine policy has been widely regarded as a great success and deserved further study. This paper aims to explore the development process of UK COVID-19 vaccine policy as well as its strengths and limitations. The case study of UK COVID-19 vaccine policy can serve as useful reference for other countries. This paper is set to analyze the development process, strengths and limitations of UK COVID-19 vaccine policy, before summarizing the empirical enlightenment from the case study. |
