Under the global Mergers and acquisitions (M&A) trend, the business ecosystem has shown rapid growth and efficiently promoted the reorganization of the industry. Global M&A has grown in recent years, and the number of M&A cases has significantly increased. International companies actively adopt M&A as a growth strategy and take the integration of business ecosystems as the primary tactic. Those companies that focus on similar industries have obtained higher integration synergies and operating performance during the M&A process. This study adopts the contribution of M&A to the business ecosystem and the integration synergies of a company. It conducts in-depth analysis from the perspective of academic theory and management practice. From the study of the business model to value networks of the commercial ecosystem, the acquiring company, Process Automation Business Unit of Siemens AG, has acquired four companies in a short period, regardless of the advantages of profitability, R&D capabilities, economic scale, and commodity portfolio are better than it and became the leader of the process automation industry. This paper applies the case study research method, and the results can provide suggestions for the theory of post- M&A integration decision-making in management practice. |
