The aesthetic evaluation of erotic visual elements has become an important research direction in contemporary art in society. This quantitative study aimed to examine the aesthetic preferences of erotic photography based on gender differences. Another aim was to express the erotic feelings and preferences on two erotic visual elements. The stimulants were a photo series with a female character. The three independent variables were the flowing liquids, the exotic fabrics, and the gender of the participants. Results show that the male and female participants did not significantly differ in their aesthetic evaluations of the given stimulants. The interaction effect between the two erotic elements, ''flowing liquids'' and ''exotic fabrics,'' toward preferences was statistically significant. Moreover, the participants gave more preference scores to the photo with exotic fabrics when there were flowing liquids, showing that erotic photography could combine the two erotic elements in the layout to form the most attractive image for participants. |
