This study aimed to explore the characteristics of the organizational culture of a Waldorf preschool and the interplay between its organizational culture, administration and curriculum implementation. Employing the qualitative research method, the data were collected through observations, interviews, and document analysis. The organization culture of this preschool was analyzed through the three-level model of culture and these levels were categorized into six aspects. This study found that the artifacts of this preschool were based on the philosophy of Waldorf education. In addition, the emphasis on children’s sensory education was reflected through the learning environment, teachers’behaviors and daily routines. This preschool’s core values were drawn from Rudolf Steiner’s views on child development and the school founder’s ideology on creating a loving and supportive environment. The underlying assumption was the firm belief in helping children develop as a whole person. |
