啟蒙批判與現代藝術──以培根繪畫為佐證

The Critiques of the Enlightenment and Modern Art: Taking Francis Bacon's Paintings as an Evidence

本文旨在從現代藝術作品介入，論證阿多諾（Theodor W.Adorno，1903-1969）與霍克海默（Max Horkheimer，1895-1973）的啟蒙批判。首先整理出六個議題，都與啟蒙發展過程的特定盲點有關。再對照法蘭西斯．培根（Francis Bacon，1909-1992）的繪畫和德勒茲（Gilles Louis René Deleuze，1925-1995）對培根的分析，凸顯現代藝術創作能超越啟蒙的缺陷，以表明啟蒙批判可以在現代藝術作品上找到論據。

The purpose of this study is to discuss Adorno and Horkheimer's critiques of the Enlightenment from the perspective of modern artworks. In order to clarify, this article summarizes six issues. All of them are related to the specific blindness in preceding processes of enlightenment. By comparing Francis Bacon's paintings with Deleuze's analysis of Bacon, it shows that modern artistic creation can transcend the flaws of the Enlightenment. This demonstrates that critiques of the Enlightenment can find its argument in modern artworks.
