Introduction: How to improve the health of employees in the medical workplace is an issue that needs to be addressed as medical practitioners are an important asset of a hospital. The abnormal rate of checkups in relation to the health of the case hospital's employees is higher than that of the National Health Administration's survey regarding the three highest prevalence rates of people. The average number of sick leave hours per person is increasing year by year, which indicates that employees' health problems cannot be delayed with regards to being addressed. Studies have exhibited that walking can reduce an individual’s body mass index, body fat percentage, waist circumference, blood fat, and even mortality. Objective: To make use of the intelligent pedometer app to explore and intervene in the walking activities of employees in determining whether they have improved their health promoting lifestyles as well as their physiological indicators of blood pressure, blood sugar and blood cholesterol. Methods: A convenient sampling was used to collect data of 55 employees who scored abnormal values in the three highs, self-filling structured questionnaires and physiological tests. By making the employees in autonomous walking with continuously make use of the intelligent pedometer app for 12 weeks. Results: The study found that the total score, in relation to the participants, of the 'Health Promotion Lifestyle Profile (HPL)' scale (t= 3.846, p<0.001) as well as「Self-actualization」、「Exercise」、「Health responsibility」、and「Nutrition」were significantly improved. Conclusion: The study exhibits that after 12 weeks of continuous use of the smart pedometer software in autonomous walking, it can significantly improve the healthy lifestyle of the participants. The relevant physiological values and measurements are only improved in the 'weight' and 'waist circumference' categories. When synchronized with existing health promoting activities, it should effectively improve the employees’overall health and knowledge. |
