In order to investigate the needs and expectations of different user groups to services of New Taipei City Library, the author was entrusted to invite library volunteers, retirees, parents of children and teenagers to conduct four focus group interviews. After reviewing the relevant literature, this article quotes and interprets the views of the interviewees from three aspects: the functions and roles of public libraries, publicity and promotion, the 24-hour study room, and the homeless issues. At the end of the article, several reminders from the International Federation of Library Associations and Associations (IFLA) 2021 Trend Report are used to make suggestions for Taiwan's public libraries to think about the service planning and development direction in the post-epidemic era, hoping to provide reference for public librarias. |
