Infrared, radar, acoustic, and magnetic stealth are critical for warships to reduce the probability of detection by enemies. Signatures of the aforementioned type exist on the basis of innate physical characteristics, and they must be processed at a cost to obtain a corresponding suppression effect and improve a battleship’s rate of survival on the battlefield. This paper introduces the concept of a magnetic signature and presents an analysis of the reasons for the generation of a ship’s magnetic signature. It then explains magnetic signature management and finally introduces the technology used for ship degaussing and magnetization. |
