This study proposes a new approach to creative product design using a TRIZ-based systematic innovation process that combines TRIZ and SCAMPER problem solving tools. TRIZ employs many technical engineering techniques which are presented here in simplified form to engage designers and design students in the technical process. Results are presented in a product design case study, and the two most innovative designs are presented for process demonstration. Through this research, a new methodology is formed that can guide designers in creative problem solving and systematic concept generation. |
