The trend of “re-writing of the literature history” began from the period of lifting the post-marital law imposed in Taiwan and was developed because of some ideological and cultural effects. Based on the background of this trend, the author analyzes Chen Fangming’s specific practice and writing features, and objectively examines the deficiencies of his writing standards and other aspects. It can be seen that Chen Fangming’s A History of Modern Taiwanese Literature enriches the scholarly productions in re-writing Taiwanese literature history, and also implies the inevitable differences and future problems related to the structure of literary history, historical evaluation of literary works, and so on. |
