This case report describes a man who had suffered from hidradenitis suppurativa for many years. He was unable to be correctly diagnosed for a long time, causing serious skin lesions over his armpits, buttocks and bilateral posterior thighs. The situation depressed the patient and caused him being afraid to contact with others. We use Gordon 11 Function Health Patterns including observation, physical assessment, interviews, and medical record queries to confirm that the case had nursing problems such as impaired skin integrity, pain, and hopelessness. During in the period of outpatient department from June 5, 2019 to January 8, 2020, individual nursing care including skin care skills and pain control was provided to improve his quality of life. In addition, after building trust with the case, we encouraged him to face the treatment positively and achieve the goal to make friends with others. |
