During the pandemic of novel coronavirus pneumonia (COVID-19), scientists were looking for or developing drugs and vaccines to blockade the spreading of the virus worldwide. In Taiwan, the vaccines for COVID-19 were insufficient. Hence, the epidemic outbreak in the first half of 2021. Traditional Chinese medicine Jing-Guan-Fang (JGF) was formulated to relieve patients with ailments and for contact confirmed cases to prevent infection. Our objectives were to explore the feeling and satisfaction among JGF users and compare the users for prevention with those at a high risk of being infected or the confirmed cases. This was a cross-sectional study. A structural questionnaire was adopted. The study enrolled 469 samples, including 380 users for prevention and 89 users who were high-risk infected or confirmed cases. The results showed that many users felt the symptoms of fatigue and anxiety were relieved after using JGF. In particular, the users who were high-risk infected or confirmed cases felt JGF could alleviate throat ache, headache, and cough. Most users agreed that JGF could enhance disease resistance and relieve illness. Additionally, most users were satisfied with JGF, the satisfaction score were 7.13±2.34 and 8.89±1.58 respectively. The score of the users who were high-risk infected or confirmed cases was significantly higher than the users for prevention(P<0.001). According to the analysis of the results, we demonstrated several benefits of JGF. More clinically evidence-based research on JGF might be required in the future. Thereby, it may provide JGF as a choice for integrated Chinese and Western medicine toward COVID-19 and elevate the quality of treatment. |
