Early enrollment are the primary methods for preschool gifted education in Tai-wan, meeting gifted students' vigorous motivation and learning needs through an accelerated curriculum. The examinations for early enrollment in Taiwan are similar across cities due to unified regulations. Each city has developed a systematic scheme whose context and format differ from Australia's, meaning that the pro-grams in both countries have unique characteristics. This study introduces preschool gifted education and development of early en-rollment, explains the distinctive examinations in Taiwan and Australia, and com-pares their contents. The study collects and compares the attitudes and opinions of teachers and parents in the two countries. In the last, This study proposes five rec-ommendations for early enrollment in Taiwan, hoping that Taiwan's implementation of the programs can be more flexible and meet the needs of gifted students. |
