In recent years, there have been repeated cases of homicide by the persons with suspected abnormalities in Taiwan. Therefore, the court asked psychiatrists and psychologists to make forensic assessment. However, the results of assessments are often different and subject to social concerns. The purpose of this study is to clarify the content and ethical requirements of forensic assessment, and the consensus among different experts. In this study, questionnaires were used to ask the appraisal professionals about the degree of agreement between the content requirements and ethical requirements among literature in Chinese and in English, and controversial issues such as ultimate problems. A total of 31 clinical psychologists, 35 counseling psychologists, and 12 psychiatrists participated in the study. The study found that ''identification must include the purpose of the appraisal'' in the appraisal content is most supported by the three types of professionals. The three types of professionals also most support on ''the identification must not be over-inferred'' and ''the identification must be neutral.'' As for the ultimate question of whether the assessment report can be written without guilt or not, the three types of professionals have varying degrees of support. Counseling and clinical psychologists favor support, while psychiatrists prefer not support. In terms of ethics, ''the society must have a principle set by the ethics committee'', ''appraisers must participate in the society's continuing education credits'' are highly supported, and ''the state should regulate the court's opinion that those who disagree with the assessment must agree to the majority''. Suggestions are also presented at the end of the article. |
