Based on ASHRAE’s Energy Budget Efficiency method of air condition system, this paper proposed the PEB(Pumping Energy Budget Efficiency) method as an energy evaluation tool for ABRI’s Building Energy Efficiency Rating System of Residential Buildings. Without using pumping power calculate method directly, PEB is a method to evaluate the lowest total electricity budget including electricity charge and demand charge. Based on the field measurement of 100 pumps, this research fund that 51%pumping capacity designs were over designed more than twice and 78%pumping head designs were over designed more than 5% in today’s pumping design market. Because such an over designed phenomenon had increased unnecessary huge pumping electricity budget, this research believed that to promote an appropriate minimum pumping power design strategy is the key policy to improve the energy wastage situation of building pump system. Because the capacity of water piping, pump, water tower have to be designed between one day water usage and two day water usage according to the existing regulations of Water Corporations, PEB method suggesting a maximum pump value with twice product value of pump head and pumping capacity design and using a maximum pumping electricity density 0.0183kWh/(m.m3) which is a maximum electricity density from 80measured pumps with 99% risk ratio to established an evaluation method for pumping energy budget. PEB method can also give a higher evaluation for better efficiency pump design so as to help the governmental promotion policy of high efficiency pump design and to save huge energy and electricity budget for the whole pump equipment market. |
