The purpose of the study was to use a qualitative methodology to analyze the parenting beliefs and parenting strategies of language training of a mother who trained her child with expressive language delay. The study had two findings. First, her parenting beliefs included to adjust herself to become a maternal role, to take parenting responsibility, and to open her mind to search for resources to help her. And second, her parenting strategies of language training were to rebuild attachment relationship, to train the oral cavity, and to enhance language training strategies. After she endeavored, the child's behaviors changed. He became to come back automatically, to be stable, and to interact with others, but his language comprehension was weak. According to the findings, further suggestions were provided for professionals who worked with late talkers. |
