The Situations of Elders with Dementia Participate in Cognitive Learning Activities: Taking the Dementia Service Base in Chiayi County as an Example

面對高齡化社會失智症盛行現象,本研究為瞭解失智高齡者參與失智服務據點的認知學習活動之現況,主要目的有二:(一)瞭解失智高齡者參與失智服務據點的學習內涵;(二)瞭解失智高齡者參與失智服務據點及認知學習活動的改變情形。本研究以3位失智高齡者的照顧者及失智服務據點的1位主要負責人為訪談對象。採用質性研究的半結構式深度訪談法取得研究資料,經由資料整理分析後,歸納以下結論:(一)失智照顧者的多元需求與意願是影響失智高齡者是否參與失智據點的重要關鍵。(二)提供失智高齡者學習活動時,需要符合其學習特性、保持活動的彈性和給予充分時間練習。(三)據點提供混合各項認知促進的學習活動中以懷舊活動最受歡迎。(四)失智高齡者整體認知功能有短期且持續效果。本研究提出三項建議以回應研究結論。
英文摘要
Facing the prevalence of dementia in the aging society, this study aims to understand the current situation of dementia elderly people participating in cognitive learning activities in dementia service bases. Aims: The main purposes are: (1) Understanding the learning connotation of elders with dementia participate in dementia service bases; (2) Understanding the changes of elders with dementia who participate cognitive learning activities in dementia service bases. Methods: This research interviewed 3 Caregivers of elders with dementia and a main person who manage the dementia service bases. The semi-structured in-depth interview method of qualitative research is adopted to obtain research data. Then the data were analyzed and management. Results: The following conclusions are summarized: (1) The diverse needs and wishes of dementia caregivers are an important key to whether the elders with dementia participate in dementia bases. (2) When providing learning activities for the elders with dementia, it is necessary to meet their learning characteristics, maintain the flexibility of activities and give sufficient time to practice. (3) Nostalgic activities are the most popular among the learning activities that provide a blend of cognitive promotion. (4) The overall cognitive function of the elders with dementia has short-term and sustained effects. This research proposes three recommendations in response to the research conclusions.
