The purpose of this paper is to study the educational implications of the implementation of mythology curriculum in Natural Way School by the theory of mythologist Mircea Eliade. The mythology curriculum is considered as a particular course in Natural Way School. In his book, Eliade has pointed out that mythology can help people to become themselves. This is also the purpose of education. However, in Taiwan, the research on the analysis of mythological curriculum is zero. As a result, the researcher will explore the mythological curriculum of Natural Way School from Eliade’s mythological point of view. The research method of this paper is based on Document Analysis and according to the collected documents, the study concludes that the myth have four meanings: 1. We connect with the universe through mythology. 2. Knowing the mythology allows us to understand the worldviews of various communities and the different cultures around the world. 3. The purpose of learning about the mythology is not to capture what happened in the past but to understand contemporary society. 4. While learning about the mythology, we become contemporary with the supernatural beings. |
