"Life cycle of cabbage webworm, Hellula undalis (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae), a pest of summer crucifer crop was studied under 25℃. This pest is oligophagous insect, and main host plants are Brassicaceae. Larvae were collected from non-heading type Chinese cabbage and reared for one generation and then conducted the later experiment. The data had shown that the egg stage was 3.33+0.06 d (3-4 d);larval stage is 17.02±0.29 d (13-25 d);pupal stage was 7.62±0.13 d (5-9 d); adult longevity was 10.33±0.65 d (1-22 d). The average fecundity was 67.18 egg/female (1-167 egg/female). Intrinsic rate of increase (r) was 0.0744/d; the reproductive rate (Ro) was 12.32/female; the finite rate of increase (λ) was 1.0772/d; the mean generation time (T) was 33.77 d." |
