"The author in this paper “Comment on the 1-12 National Basic Education Curriculum Reform” argued that the 1-12 National Basic Education Curriculum Reform in Taiwan emphasis the importance of life-long learners’ core competence which integrated knowledge, skill and attitude as core of the 1-12 National Basic Education Curriculum Guidelines in Taiwan. The author then explored meanings of core competencies, and inquired the relationship of the 1-12 National Basic Education Curriculum Guidelines and core competence in Taiwan. Thus, the author pointed out the function of core competence as the core of curriculum development, and highlighted characteristics of the 1-12 National Basic Education Curriculum Reform and argued the importance of core competence in the 1-12 National Basic Education Curriculum Reform. Furthermore, the author analysis the transformation of the core competencies in the 1-12 National Basic Education Curriculum Guidelines and offered some recommendation and suggestions to encourage schools to conduct action research for successful implementation of core competence in the 1-12 National Basic Education Curriculum Reform in Taiwan." |
