"Action competency is a subjective agent’s performance with main concerns and methods of problem-solving to engage one’s life and social development to change self and environments intentionally. It could be referred with three dimensions to the core competencies of the 12-Year Basic Education in Taiwan. Curating, focusing on forming public forums and making relationships and connections, could be applied to design an action competency-based curriculum. The purpose of this qualitative study was to explore how a group of teachers in an elementary school has designed and implemented an action competency-based curriculum through curating. The findings indicated that investigating the curating issues might deepen both teachers’and students’consciousness and critical thinking. Moreover, the subjective thinking process of curating could further activate self-directedness, and the related creative performances of curating could also be transformed into intellectual praxis greatly." |
