"The study is to investigate the farmers’agricultural identity and lemon cultivation is taken as an example. The quantitative survey research method is used mainly, and in-depth case interview is also applied to assist in studying 262 farmers engaged in lemon planting in Pingtung. The agriculture identity scale as a quantitative research tool, and the questionnaire and interview as qualitative tools are carried, and several analysis methods: independent sample t test is used to collect data, and to evaluate and compare the differences of the variable. Base on the results of statistics analysis, 8 farmers are selected to conduct a semi-structured in-depth questionnaire interview to clarify the phenomenon of causality of the variable and the influence of path intermediary, in order to interpret the research data qualitatively and entirely. The result of the research reveals: 1) the farmers’agricultural identity, the variable, show the highly correlated. 2) besides the obvious factors such as agricultural techniques, market and environment, a hidden issue is found: the behavior and the manner of farmers, the variable factors, such like their knowledge and opinions influence the sustainable agriculture development significantly. This research can be provided to government agricultural authorities to promote organic agriculture with evidence-based supports, which may assist to boost the promotion of organic sustainable agriculture development." |
