Finding yourself is an eternal topic in life. People tend to forget their original intentions after socialization, and it is even more necessary to explore themselves. Any creation is the author's exploration of the self, only to see how he expresses it. Writers have two basic forms of life exploration: one is superficial, and this kind of exploration is what the author himself usually recognizes and belongs to the level of experience. The other is deep, it shows the writer's understanding of life itself, and it is transcendental. In the works, a profound experience of life pursuit is embodied, which is usually not clearly perceived by writers. However, it is this kind of emotional realization from the inner life that has nurtured the flower of artistic life and formed a colorful life landscape in the works. Wang Dingguo is a legendary writer in Taiwan. He started writing more than 40 years ago and then moved to the mall. Since then, he has become a successful entrepreneur. After re-entering the literary world 25 years later, he won the “China Times Open Weekly Top Ten Good Books”, “Taipei International Book Fair Award” and “Golden Tripod Award”. The fame and fortune under capitalism has not worn away his classical gentle personality and delicate and profound humanistic feelings. The experience of business has undoubtedly provided the nutrients of his writing. Such an entrepreneurial author has aroused my curiosity. Through exploring many of his works and interviews, I found that Wang Dingguo intends to find the self hidden in the depths of the soul through self-disintegration and opposition. This thesis intends to interpret the writer's spiritual recourse journey with Wang Dingguo's novel “The Sakura of the Enemy” and the essay collection “Exploring the Road”. From self-disintegration, self-confrontation and self-integration, see Wang Dingguo's self-exploration. |
