From the positive psychology perspective, psychological resilience refers to positive adaptation within the context of adversity. As part of human nature, resilience can help an individual survive and recover from even the most brutal experiences. Police officers usually face work-related stress and exposure to traumatic situations in the line of duty; as a result, extensive research has recently applied resilience development courses to police officers. The purpose of this paper is to explore the construct of psychological resilience of police officers in order to identify its determinants and effects on police officers. |
