Children's classic poetry reading directly influences the initiation education of poetry in children and therefore certain necessary values exist for the analysis and discussions on the related poetry readings. Many types of classic poetry readings compiled especially for children can easily be found in the market. However the qualities of the contents are so inconsistent and more considerations could be made in the selection of materials and the explanation of the poems. This research therefore tries to use the children's classic poetry readings published in Taiwan, as the subject of this study, hoping that this research could attract the attention of more scholars, to pay our considerations to the editing of this type of readings. Apart from the analysis of the basic information of the selected poems, the focus of this discussion will also be placed on the ''poetic expressions'' and the ''appreciation and analysis'' of each reading. The purpose of this research is not to judge the different editions but hoping that through statistical analysis we could observe the trend in the editing and selection of children's classic poetry readings, so that through re-organization and rearrangements, the characteristics and the flaws of the editors in the expression of the poems could be discussed. Furthermore, we would also like to propose a generalized commentary and suggestions as a reference provided for the editors and researchers. |
