Parents and teachers are significant persons to young children. The quality parent-teacher relationship has positive impact on children’s development and learning. The purpose of this study was to explore the experience of building up good relationship between parents and teachers in early childhood settings. In order to achieve the purpose, the method of phenomenology was employed. Twenty participants, nine teachers and eleven parents of young children, who thought that they have good relationship with each other, were recruited. Data was collected through individual in-depth interviewing and then analyzed. The findings of this study showed that effective parent-teacher communications, teacher’s devotion to her job, teacher’s professionalism, and parents’ trust in their teacher shaped the quality parent-teacher relationship. |
