Introduction of Collection of Poetry of Tseng-Chien Li Life Throughout Five Dynasties: Poems, Articles and Stories of Tseng-Chien Li

李增塹（1881－1950），生於清光緒7年，卒於戰後之民國39年。一生經歷過滿清、日本明治、大正、昭和、民國，五朝臣民。世居二林庄（彰化縣二林鎮）躬耕稼耘，而李增塹偏愛儒學，漢文唐詩無不充沛於生活之中。筆者以李增塹的詩文作品，述說李氏家族歷史變遷，做為一個讀書人對鄉土的熱愛，寄情於山水，對農事四時運行的觀查細微。他看景物別具慧眼，更兼以慈悲為懷，逸興發而為詩文，真情流露令人感動，彷彿經歷過的一場生活美學。詩文集的導讀以情境分類：（一）詩會詩稿、（二）家族記事、（三）廟會及祭典、（四）戰爭時期日常記事、（五）戰後國民政府來臺初期之政經情形、（六）公務應酬之詩作、（七）旅遊及風景之吟咏、（八）論述文稿、（九）自述及抄錄、（十）書法及年譜。本詩文集誠屬是台灣近代史的瀛海志遺。筆者蒐集編輯，累積共計580首詩及40篇文。李增塹的詩文註明年代日期，是用當時記帳的商業符號俗稱「蘇州碼」或稱「台灣碼」。此項記載，得以歸納顯現李增塹的人際網絡與詩文的日記價值。對於台灣古典詩文作品的發掘與保存，尤其是具有文學、歷史、政治、社會等史料價值。這將是本書的貢獻。

Tseng-Chien Li (1881-1950) was born in 1881 and deceased in 1950. He has experienced the periods of Qing dynasty, Meiji, Taisho and Showa of Japan and Republic of China. The family settled in Gierim Township,（Changhua County) by the life of agriculture. Tseng-Chien Li was engaged in Confucianism as well as Chinese literature and Tang poetry. By the poems of Tseng-Chien Li, the author depicts the history of the Li Family. As an intellectual, he expressed his affection to the homeland by the landscape. He carefully observed the agricultural operation, and his views towards things were particular. His poems were inspired by his benevolence which are sincere and show the living aesthetics. Introduction of the collection of poetry is classified by situations: (1) poems of poetry society, (2) family chronicle, (3) temple fair and ceremony, (4) daily records during the period of war, (5) political and economic situations in the period of National Government in Taiwan after the war, (6) official poems, (7) poems related to travels and landscape, (8) articles of statements, (9) narration and transcription, (10) calligraphy and chronicle. The collection of poetry is the classic of the modern history of Taiwan. The author collects and edits 580 poems and 40 articles. The book will contribute to the discovery and preservation of classical poetry of Taiwan with the value of historical materials of literature, history, politics and society.
