While the developed countries are gradually facing low birthrates and aging society caused by stagnant population growth, the ASEAN countries have continued to devote time and effort in the trade agreements with their abundant natural resources and demographic dividends brought by young laborers. This led to the formation of the RCEP jointly signed by 15 countries. This article uses the Neo-Functionalism of regional integration as the theoretical framework for analysis, observes whether the integration of RCEP can promote the economic benefit of members with a ''spillover effect''. And reflect on how Taiwan, which failed to join the regional integration organization, can get rid of the hidden worries of being marginalized. It is worth noting that as the ASEAN member states have their own strengths and weaknesses in terms of economy, population, society, and cultureĄThere is currently no improvement in education or labor rights negotiations in the RCEP agreement. Therefore, the effects of regional economic integration on the global industrial supply chain still require continuous attention. |
