Oncology case management can enhance the quality of cancer patient care. Since 2009, the Health Promotion Administration began to actively promote cancer-care model. The oncology case management model was still in its infancy. There was no specific model of oncology case management, so health care providers were unclear about the role and responsibilities of an oncology case manager. The purposes of this study were constructed in a South Medical Center along with an Oncology case management model, the role and responsibilities of case manager and established a teamwork model, and also explored the effectiveness of model advocacy. This study used intervention prospective, single group pretest and posttest design study for physicians and nurse from a medical center. A total of 175 physicians and 468 nurses participated in the study. The results showed that health care providers in the posttest scores were signifi cantly higher than each of the pretest (p <.001). Health care providers on the role of case manager and team cooperation model received signifi cantly higher degree of recognition after the advocacy, and thus could improve the quality of patient's care. |
