Most people usually categorized Balzac as a realist writer, he himself even modestly described himself as ”the secretary of French society” and explained ”The Human Comedy” was only meant to make portrait of the society rather than any personal purposes. However, at the same time he always came to realize, in order to become a famous writer and for his work to have greater research value, he needs to study the society in depth and dig out any unknown secrets of the society.Therefore, this ambitious writer gave himself the mission of becoming the great thinker with Napoleon as his model and feudalism as his principle.
