Congenital maxilla facial deformity and traumatism cause the jaw asymmetries and deformitiesamong crowd for most proportions. Facial and occlusal abnormality is severe enough but may beimproved by orthognathic surgery. The operation concentrate on 16-18-year old patients. Accordingto Edward HartleyAngle (1959) malocclusions can be divided mainly into three types:Angle'sclass I, Angle's class II and Angle's class III. This article describes the treatment of malocclusionsby orthognathic surgery, and the operation includes: Mandibular anterior osteotomy, Mandibularanterior subapical osteotomy,Bilateral Saggital SplitOsteotomy(BSSO),Maxillary anterior osteotomy,Le Fort I osteotomy and Genioplasty. After-operation nursing care includes:keeping the airwayunobstructed, preventing bleeding, preventing infection, nutrition supplements, good oral hygiene,paying attention to the communication, etc. The appearance changes a lot big after the operation,and it is uncomfortable. The patient may feel depressed, so preparing his mind and family's mentalsupport are important. |
