Typhoon Morakot battered southern Taiwan and caused many causalities and property loses on August 8th, 2009. The government, the military and the community have put up a great effort to relieve the aftermath altogether. Meanwhile, the government reorganized civil societies at that moment to plan overall post-disaster reconstruction. A week later, Executive Yuan decided to establish the Morakot Post-Disaster Reconstruction Council. The council is going to complete four-year hard working on 28 August, 2014, due to it is a transient mission oriented unit instead of a permanent organization. Since those post-disaster reconstruction work could have been done then, how to pass down those valuable experience of reconstruction would have become an important issue for the many public and private sectors. It is appropriately that the National Archives Administration preserves those archives while the council is discharging the burden of reconstruction work in time. It is also more important for considering all detailed processes comprehensively. This article is to record the experiences and processes of acquisitioning and appraising related records of the council. |
