We recruited a total of 379 residentsfrom a long-term care facility, using a health-related, structured questionnaire-qualityof life short form 36-to collect data, then to analyze them statistically by means ofdescriptive analysis and multiple regression. The major findings of this study wereas follows: (1) The factors scoring worst for QOL were health problems resulting inrole restriction and emotional problems resulting in role restriction; the factors withbetter scores were social function, body pain, and comprehensive mental health. (2)88.9% residents had more than one kind of disease. The most prevalent diseaseswere depression (53%), hypertension (44.6%), and cardiovascular disease (44.3%).(3) Variables such as age, experience of falls, depression, stroke, cardiovascular diseaseand arthritis were significantly related to QOL. The findings of this study could serveas a reference for the long-term care facilities. |
