As the pace of privatization of Taiwan's state-owned enterprises (SOEs) accelerating in the recent years, the action of transferring records of the SOEs to National Archives should be taken as soon as possible. And how to sort out the valuable data among enormous amount of SOE records for the future use is the major challenge. This article serves as a general guide which is developed by application of political economics research methodology. By exploring the social context in which each SOE survived to identify the political economic functions SOEs carried out in different period of history, systematic selection criteria, which sets priorities and allots resources, could be established to sort out SOE records qualified for National Archives in the transferring process. |
