英文摘要 |
Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy(PEG) has been widely used in western countries in the past two decades. PEG tube feeding is an alternative to provide long-term enteral nutrition when oral intake is infeasible. Due to the influences of culture and recognition about this technique, its utility in Taiwan, however, is limited. To enhance nurses' knowledge toward PEG and increase the quality of life in patients with long-term tube-feeding, this article addresses the indications, the decision making process, the principles of clinical management, and the complications regarding clinical applications of PEG. |
